Job Summary


We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Controller to join our finance team in this growing real estate investment company. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Your expertise will support our organization's financial health, providing critical insights through precise bookkeeping, financial reporting, and account reconciliation. Duties



Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations using leading accounting software such as QuickBooks. Maintain the general ledger with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP standards. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to verify account accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly. Prepare and analyze financial reports, including profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and budget variance reports to support management decision-making. Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while maintaining compliance with tax regulations. Conduct account analysis to monitor financial health and identify areas for improvement or correction. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently to optimize cash flow management. Reconcile accounts on a regular basis, including bank statements, credit card statements, and governmental accounts related to nonprofit or governmental accounting practices if applicable. Assist with tax preparation by organizing financial data and supporting documentation for audits or filings. Support budgeting processes by providing accurate data analysis and forecasts based on historical financial information. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial laws and regulations while maintaining detailed audit trails for internal or external reviews.

Skills



Proficiency in popular accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial management tools. Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles along with nonprofit or governmental accounting experience if applicable. Solid knowledge of GAAP standards for accurate financial reporting and compliance. Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger accounting, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation procedures. Familiarity with debits & credits, 10-key typing skills for data entry accuracy, and bank reconciliation techniques. Experience managing accounts payable and receivable workflows along with payroll processing capabilities. Knowledge of tax regulations related to business operations and nonprofit organizations; ability to assist with tax filings when needed. Technical proficiency in various financial software platforms coupled with strong analytical skills for account analysis and general ledger reconciliation. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for maintaining precise records across multiple accounts. Ability to interpret complex financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively through detailed financial report writing. Familiarity with budgeting processes to support strategic planning efforts within the organization's fiscal framework. Pay: From $36.00 per hour
