Job Summary


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the accurate recording of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate smooth bookkeeping operations, and contribute to the preparation of financial reports. Responsibilities



Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to record transactions and generate reports. Assist with payroll processing, ensuring proper deduction calculations and timely payments. Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and assisting in financial report writing for internal review. Maintain detailed documentation of all bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, account analysis, and audit trail records. Collaborate with the finance team on special projects related to governmental or non-profit accounting standards (GAAP). Perform data entry tasks such as 10 key typing for high-volume transaction processing with accuracy. Contribute to month-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and verifying account balances. Support tax-related activities by organizing documentation for audits or filings as needed.

Qualifications



Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Strong understanding of core accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management. Familiarity with financial concepts like balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing. Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and governmental or non-profit accounting standards is a plus. Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation accurately and efficiently. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for financial report writing and data analysis. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Previous experience in construction environment.

2+ years of bookkeeping experience Strong QuickBooks experience is a must Experience in AP/AR, invoicing, and reconciliations High attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in Excel & basic financial reporting Excellent communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times Reliability, accountability, and professional demeanor

Preferred (Not Required)



Experience in construction or service-related industries Familiarity with timesheets, payroll, or job costing Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
