The board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) administers, conducts, and evaluates behavioral assessments using evidence-based behavior services and designs behavior support plans based on assessment results. The BCBA works with students and staff members to create and review goals and objectives for student behavior and regularly monitors progress, implementation of behavior plans, and achievement of goals and objectives. They also collect and review behavioral data and make recommendations for students and staff members. The BCBA collaborates with other staff members to provide comprehensive behavioral services in alignment with the school's universal behavior program and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
Essential Functions:
Collaborate on oversight of behavior services spanning grades K through 2
Collaborate to implement universal behavior program
Collaborate to develop and enhance behavior services within MTSS framework
Develop or identify and administer universal screening tools for behavior
Collaborate to develop a school wide approach to creating a more positive school climate
Perform comprehensive behavior observations and provide recommendations to school staff based on observations and findings
Develop comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior plans
Train support staff and teachers on behavior plans, strategies, and supports
Provide direct behavioral consultation to administration and teachers
Provide 1:1 and small group skills training to students
Oversight of data collection and behavior data analysis and help to use data to make data informed decisions
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Behavior Analyst Board Certification
Master's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience as a special education teacher (preferred)
Minimum 3 years' experience working in a school setting (preferred)
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job in accordance with federal, state, and Springfield School District requirements.
Tools/Technology Requirements:
Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Perform physical requirements with a moderate degree of physical and emotional stamina.
Work Environment:
Work is normally performed in climate controlled environment, with very limited exposure to extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases. No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
