JOB SUMMARY

+ Performs safe and proper installation, maintenance, safety testing and repair of clinical and non-clinical equipment. Works with Biomedical Specialist on sophisticated, highly technical critical and/or complex equipment.

Graduate of a Biomedical Electronic Technician program, military Biomedical Technician program or an Electronic Tech program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

+ Basic electronics; anatomy and medical terminology; troubleshooting; reading schematic drawings and blueprints; test equipment operation; ability to use a personal computer; knowledge of appropriate codes and regulations; hand tool operation; good interpersonal skills.

- Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

SKILLS

- Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
