Bioinformatics Lab Assistant
Job Description
Essential Duties
Assist faculty by using bioinformatics techniques to analyze the genome of a strain of Aeromonas hydrophila*.
Work with faculty to learn new computer programs as needed, including Python, R, and Bash scripting.
Minimum Qualifications
Student must have experience in general biology and bioinformatics or equivalent coursework (BSB 151, BSB 485 Microbial Genomics) .
Student must be able to understand and follow instruction.
Student must be available from May 5 - August 10.
Student must have computer/internet access.
Summary
The student will assist with the bioinformatics analysis of a microbial genome.
