Position Summary
PART-TIME
Position requires broad-based experience in bioinformatics research, analysis workflows and hardware and software support. The Bioinformatics Scientist works closely with the BSBC Director and interacts routinely with UNMC investigators, other scientists, graduate students, software and hardware industry representatives, service technicians, as well as key academic and industry collaborators to assist stakeholders in all stages of projects, including initial consultation, design, development, and analyses performed by the BSBC facility. This person coordinates the activities of core staff, manages Windows and Linux servers, databases and core websites, carries out necessary development work, helps organize workshops, participates in billing/budget operations, and presents BSBC core project development and core progress in campus-wide seminars.
