Position Summary

Under supervision, uses Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and/or Revit equipment and software to complete base architectural and interior construction drawings. Maintains CAD and/or Revit systems and procedures and ensures data integrity and accuracy.
  • Selected candidate must have basic knowledge and experience using REVIT
  • Hiring manager is open to considering a BIM/REVIT Designer II, position offered will be based on depth and breadth of the candidates experience
  • This is an in office position
Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares facilities and/or properties drawings and plans for commercial projects, including detailed drawings of building alterations and additions. Visits job sites to compile measurements as necessary and performs site surveys of existing spaces in collaboration with project principals to maintain drawing accuracy.

Monitors systems to test and verify accuracy of drawings and data base information. Updates master drawing/models and inputs space calculation information in reconfigured areas that tie to the FM Systems and BIM database. Recommends and implements system enhancements, as necessary. Troubleshoots software problems in collaboration with internal IT technician.

Inspects the work of other CAD/Revit users, draftspersons, and technicians on construction projects; converts drawings or models to layer standards for consistency and accuracy.

Creates new 2D CAD blocks, 3D Revit blocks, BIM content development and maintains standards library. May perform clash detection. Preserves and maintains original drawings/models in approved project documentation folder system.

Acquires as-built drawings from the project manager, planner, and electrician, updates the production drawing or model after projects; publishes the latest version of the drawing or model to FM Interact.

Updates and maintains master spreadsheet for all meeting/conference spaces at the home office, modified CAD drawings when changes are made, or new accommodations are made exclusive to user groups. Also responsible for updating Erie Web with content and up-to-date floorplans for employee use. Maintains the plotter, orders supply, makes large scale prints and scans/copies when requested. Trains other users in systems and provides technical assistance, as necessary.

Plans and manages facilities projects related to interior furniture and space utilization, contributing positive business value, and ensuring agreed-upon scope, cost schedule and quality objectives.

Assumes the responsibility of Facilities Planning Project Specialist as back-up when needed. Inputs relocations and new hire tickets in the FM Systems database so they are processed on time. This also includes assistance with the FM Database and submitting tickets for technical issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree in interior design, or equivalent, required. Two years\' experience in space planning design and/or
drafting with proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit systems for architectural, mechanical, electrical and space plan drafting required; or

Associates degree in interior design, or equivalent, required. Four years\' experience in space planning design and/or drafting with proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and BIM/Revit systems for architectural, mechanical, electrical and space plan drafting required.

Ability to work in a 3D environment. Working knowledge of project management schedules required. Basic knowledge of data base management/structuring required. Basic knowledge of systems furniture preferred. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and project planning software required.

Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary. Occasional travel may be required.
