Job Description


Job Summary: Manages the implementation and development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) data and processes for all property owned by Forrest Health in support of facility planning and design, construction, maintenance and compliance activities. Works under the direct supervision of Director, Planning and Facility Design to support these activities and projects varying from small in-house renovations to large scale projects employing multiple outside consultants. Assist the Director of Planning and Facility Design with pre-design activities including programming, documentation of existing facilities, estimating, scheduling and conceptual modeling. Provides leadership and direction to establish and maintain BIM standards for use within the Forrest Health system and by outside consultants. Ensures that established BIM policies, standards and processes are properly understood and adhered to by outside consultants. Manages all archive plans (digital and hard-copy) and oversees an ongoing transition to useful BIM data. Manages the investigative and documentation process of existing facilities as needed for the purpose of verifying information and incorporating into BIM models for projects or reporting use. Manages and updates various plans and data used for reporting purposes, including but not limited to facility Life Safety Plans and Medicare Cost Center reporting data derived from BIM models. Manages the investigative and documentation process of existing infrastructure systems throughout the facilities for accurate incorporation into respective BIM models. Supports facilities department planning, maintenance and construction activities as needed by providing data and three-dimensional drawings as needed for various activities. The position often requires work before or after normal work hours or on weekends to access spaces otherwise occupied and coordinate with respective engineers and trades involved.

Education/Skills Bachelor degree in Architecture/Architectural Engineering Technology. Associate Degree in CAD/Modeling may be substituted with advanced work experience. Advanced computing ability is required with various software programs including Autocad, Revit, Lumion, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and assume responsibility for daily activities and projects without direct supervision. Possess a high level of organizational and planning skills. Required to communicate regularly with Forrest Health leaders, staff and vendors in conjunction with performance of duties and coordination with others involved in various projects and tasks.

Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a professional office utilizing the same or similar skill set necessary for this position. Associates Degree in CAD/Modeling may be substituted with minimum eight (8) years experience working in a professional office utilizing the same or similar skill. Experience with same or similar skill set in construction industry will be considered.
