Job Description

The Billing Payment Poster's job is to post payments for clinic office visits, physical therapy, and insurance balances as well as complete payment entries in a timely and accurate manner.


THIS POSITION WILL BE FULLY REMOTE AFTER SUCCESSFUL TRAINING IN OFFICE FOR AT LEAST ONE WEEK!

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS



Post payments to practice management system in a timely manner + Lockboxes, live checks and clinic payments
Balance batches, run transaction reports, and save documents in the support documentation file Properly communicate and document denials in the practice management system Work Insurance Aging with focus of 0-60 aged + Follow up on initial denials
+ Follow the guidelines set in the practice management system for follow up reason codes and follow up dates
Identify any payments not being paid at the allowed/contracted amount and communicate to your supervisor Process requests for refunds and submit for approval Respond to written and telephone billing inquiries from patients Help answer the billing line and assist patients regarding their account information Apply credits to corresponding charges in patient accounts Other miscellaneous tasks delegated by the Billing Manager



KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS



High school diploma required College education or trade school preferred Knowledge of medical practice procedures and terminology preferred Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures Experience working in a physician office or hospital billing positions preferred Proven record of discussing financial responsibilities and establishing payment plans as necessary Knowledge of billing and collections procedures Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement Proven understanding of Explanation of Benefits forms, claim forms and insurance billing process Comfortable using email and interacting in various applications Orthopedic claims experience is preferred Knowledge of MS Office Suite including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Strong attention to detail and goal oriented
