Overview:

The Billing Coordinator manages all billing and coding proceduers at MANA Foot & Ankle, including but not limited to; tracking claim statuses from start to finish, answering patient billing questions, checking charts for correct diagnosis codes, and communicating any billing/coding changes to staff and providers.

Responsibilities:
Communicate with patients regarding billing questions, balances, and payment plans Review patient charts after visit to confirm correct diagnosis codes Track claim status from start to finish Trains necessary staff on billing and coding procedures Ensures all staff understand new rules and policies as it relates to procedures that affect reimbursement Offers guidance to the clinical staff and providers with coding and reimbursement issues. Corresponds with the patient billing advocates and assists them with patients who've contacted them with questions Works closely with Central Billing Office staff to close any claim issues Manages the claim scrub and denial queues Perform any other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:
High school or GED plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area, e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, etc. * 12-18 months related experience and/or training
