The Role:

The Billing Specialist is responsible for identifying client's insurance benefits, state Medicaid applications, collections, payment plans, resolving billing-related issues, and other duties as assigned.

What you will do:

Perform insurance benefit verifications with commercial and government payers Communicate with clients regarding their medical benefit policies and payment options Answer incoming calls in a friendly and courteous manner Negotiate payment arrangements with the clients to ensure timely payments Prioritize and communicate clearly using tact and judgment while maintaining strict confidentiality Analyze revenue sources and mitigate lost revenue through training of clinical and clerical staff Understand and troubleshoot system information for analytical projects Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate's degree preferred Have at least 2 years minimum of customer service experience Have experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software platforms and their integration in billing systems Possess strong data entry, analytical, organizational, and communication skills Certified Professional Biller Certification (i.e. AAPC) preferred, but not required Completion of a pre-employment drug screen Completion of a background check Satisfactory Driving Record
