The Pro-Pipe team is currently looking for a Billing & Accounts Receivable Manager! This role is responsible for managing a team of approximately 8 - 10 employees performing tasks across the order-to-cash cycle, including work order and timecard auditing, data entry and revenue recognition, invoicing, and collections activities. The team serves as the centralized back-office for Pro-Pipe\xe2\x80\x99s field branches, providing general administrative support as needed; and are key contributors to our customer success, ensuring timely deliverables, billing and proactive communication.

As the Billing & A/R Manager, you will be the champion of continuous process improvement within these back-office functions, driving the necessary process efficiencies and performance enhancements to elevate our customer satisfaction, branch support, and cash flow. Your success will be measured by timely and accurate revenue entry in accordance with US GAAP, timely and accurate billing, and timely cash collections, along with the efficiency with which these are delivered. You will report to the Director of Shared Services and will be based at Pro-Pipe\xe2\x80\x99s central office in Phoenix, Arizona.

Your responsibilities as a Billing & A/R Manager:
  • Oversee and coordinate revenue recognition, invoicing, and collections of our Pro-Pipe business.
  • Recruit, train, and retain personnel; mentor and develop staff; drive employee engagement and productivity; support a culture focused on customer service and urgency, continuous improvement, and performance measurement.
  • Develop and monitor KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, scorecards and other tools to measure the day-to-day activities of the team and the success of process improvement initiatives; routinely interface with business leaders and executive team on function progress. KPI\xe2\x80\x99s include days sales outstanding (DSO) for unbilled and billed accounts receivable, quality yield for revenue entry and billing, and revenue per admin team headcount (or hour).
  • Lead a culture of root cause analysis and corrective action to continuously improve internal and external customer satisfaction \xe2\x80\x93 regularly conduct \xe2\x80\x98Lessons Learned\xe2\x80\x99 with operations, QA/QC and administrative function, on executed plans to identify gaps and opportunities for future.
  • Serve as Pro-Pipe\xe2\x80\x99s continuous process improvement champion, defining opportunities and executing projects to reduce waste and complexity to create a scalable foundation for rapid growth.
  • Coordinate closely with branch managers and our contracts group to ensure key contract terms are captured within the system to ensure accurate pricing and revenue recognition.
  • Proactively collaborate with Pro-Pipe leadership and branch managers to ensure efficient process execution and customer support.
  • Coordinate closely with our QA/QC group to synchronize deliverables and invoicing to ensure accurate and timely delivery to customers.
  • Manage monthly revenue and AR accounting closes in coordination with the corporate consolidation team.
  • Develop and document standard approaches, toolsets, and training needs across the order-to-cash workstream to ensure process adherence and efficient execution by administrative staff as well as field employees and branch managers.
  • Support integration efforts to standardize processes across NUG\xe2\x80\x99s multiple businesses.
What we need from You (Our Requirements):

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with a diverse range of subject matter understanding and expertise
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and prioritizing projects with multiple and often competing deadlines, with an ability to work under pressure
  • Strong understanding of revenue and billing, operational excellence, and change management strategies and methodologies
  • Ability to effectively train others on revenue and billing best practices, and continuously manage the performance of the team
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer contracts and procedures manuals.
  • Strong systems and technical skills
  • Effective communication and presentation to a variety of audiences including executives and senior management
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required, accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience
  • Proven track record of leading continuous improvement efforts and customer facing support
  • Previous experience in underground construction, utilities, or similar industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems; Acumatica a plus
