Position Summary
The Bilingual Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified candidates across field and office positions, with a strong focus on roles in construction, traffic control, and skilled labor. This individual will play a key role in building a diverse workforce by bridging communication and cultural gaps with Spanish-speaking applicants and employees.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract skilled and entry-level candidates for underground utility construction and traffic control roles.
Source candidates through job boards, social media, community outreach, career fairs, and employee referrals.
Conduct interviews (phone, virtual, and in-person) in both English and Spanish.
Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring managers, ensuring smooth communication between candidates and supervisors.
Facilitate onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, pre-employment screenings, and orientation sessions.
Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
Collaborate with management to forecast hiring needs and develop pipelines for future talent.
Support HR initiatives related to employee retention, engagement, and workforce development.
Serve as a cultural liaison by assisting Spanish-speaking employees with HR processes, safety training, and company communications.
Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent, verbal and written) - required.
2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in construction, skilled trades, or a related industry.
Strong understanding of recruiting techniques, labor market trends, and workforce development practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple hiring projects simultaneously.
Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of employment laws and compliance practices in recruitment.
Preferred Skills
Experience recruiting for underground utility construction, traffic control, or related industries.
Familiarity with safety certifications, DOT requirements, and other industry-specific qualifications.
Strong community outreach network, particularly within Spanish-speaking communities.
