Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler/Check-out to join our multi-provider GI practice team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating surgical appointments, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately processed and communicated. This position requires attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Schedule surgical procedures by coordinating with providers, patients, and other healthcare staff.

Verify insurance information and ensure pre-authorization for surgeries as required.

Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in electronic health record systems such as eClinical Works.

Communicate effectively with patients regarding their surgery details, including pre-operative instructions and post-operative care.

Handle administrative tasks related to surgery scheduling, including managing calendars and confirming appointments.

Collaborate with the office management team to streamline processes and improve patient experiences.

Provide bilingual support to patients when applicable, enhancing communication for non-English speaking individuals.

Collects surgery copay, deductible, and OOP.

Scheduling new patient referrals, verifying insurance, maintaining spreadsheet with new patient data.

Requirements

Proven experience within a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical office. MUST HAVE 1-2 YEARS OF SURGERY SCHEDULING EXPERIENCE

Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical coding practices.

Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual Spanish candidates ONLY are encouraged to apply.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.

Bilingual in English/Spanish required

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
