Job Description

Bring new bikes to life and maintain and implement wellness plan for old bikes. Serve as a mechanical guide to parents and kids as they develop their bicycle journey.

Key Performance Areas



While this position is primarily focused on 'back of the house' service related tasks, all team members must be willing and ready to flex outside of their primary duties when needed to ensure team success. Communication and patience will be critical skills throughout the whole team.

Build bikes for sale on the retail floor Build and maintain demo bike fleet Complete routine service work for customers Order supplies needed to accomplish all service related tasks Check in and out work orders while communicating with the customer Properly operate our point of sale system to monitor work orders Accurately document work and keep track of bikes in shop for service Take a proactive approach to service scheduling to limit wait times Communicate with the customer on details of any maintenance work clearly identifying options and timeline expectations Be familiar with all of the products stocked Buddy Pegs and help customers understand how these items can improve their riding experience. Provide technical knowledge about bike components and capabilities helping increase sales and customer experience Help out on the Buddy Pegs retail floor by making sales that improve our customers' riding journey. Listen to what our customers need and then provide educated advice Make suggestions on missing items not on the retail floor Help with teaching our coaches and customers the basic mechanical skills they need. Help prepare all Buddy Pegs staff to deal with basic maintenance of their own personal bikes and issues that might develop while in a class on a child's bike.

Experience

2 years of professional bicycle mechanic experience or equivalent History working in dynamic environment requiring flexibility Sales Youth programming (bonus - not required) 2+ years of developing personal and professional relationships in the region (bonus - not required)
