, is looking for a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Supervisor is a key leadership role within our brand new dual-diagnosis residential treatment center. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, performance, and development of the BHT team while ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for clients.
The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on experience as a Behavioral Health Technician in a residential treatment setting and preferably prior experience as a Lead BHT or BHT Supervisor. This role requires strong leadership skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to model professionalism, consistency, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, mentor, and support BHT staff across assigned shifts
Serve as the primary point of contact for BHT team escalations and client behavioral concerns
Ensure BHTs follow all facility policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and coordination of BHT staffing needs
Conduct onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing performance feedback for BHT staff
Monitor client safety, behavior, and milieu management in collaboration with clinical and nursing teams
Intervene in crisis situations using approved de-escalation techniques
Complete and review incident reports, shift reports, and required documentation
Support admissions, discharges, transports, and client movement as needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and structured residential environment
Collaborate closely with Nursing, Clinical, and Operations leadership to ensure continuity of care
Model professional boundaries, ethical behavior, and trauma-informed care practices at all times
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred)
Several years of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician
in a residential treatment setting
Prior experience as a
Lead BHT or BHT Supervisor strongly preferred
Experience working with
dual-diagnosis populations
(mental health and substance use disorders)
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress or crisis situations
Comfortable enforcing structure, boundaries, and program expectations
Valid driver's license required
