Summary




We are seeking a Benefits Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in managing employee benefits and ensuring compliance with relevant laws while contributing to our mission of enhancing employee satisfaction and engagement.

Responsibilities



Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgments on proposals (RFPs). Knowledge of benefits contract language. Direct point of contact with broker. Ensure compliance with FMLA, HIPAA, and other employment regulations. Collaborate with HR to manage payroll processes effectively. Conduct data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of benefits programs. Communicate benefits information clearly to employees during orientation sessions. Assist in resolving employee inquiries related to benefits and compensation. Maintain accurate records of employee benefits enrollment and changes. Stay updated on changes in employment laws affecting benefits administration.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the HRIS system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information. Assist, input and verify the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data. Assists with the open enrollment process as needed. Organize and maintain timekeeping system verifying edits, absences, and total hours, calculation of overtime, verifying holiday pay. Verify accuracy of new hire information in accounting systems. Aid all employees by answering questions and requests regarding payroll and benefit information in a timely manner. Verify and compute eligibility of vacation pay, leave pay, and terminate benefit package upon resignation. Assist in arranging and conducting employee information presentations, new hire/on-boarding, open enrollments, and employee health programs. Assist Human Resources in providing salary information on verification of employment requests. Collaborate with Human Resources, and other departments as needed. Contribute to the team by accomplishing additional duties as assigned. Adhere to all company policies, SOP's and guidelines and safety procedures.



Qualifications



High School Diploma or equivalent. 2-5 years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience. Proven experience in benefits administration or HR roles. Strong knowledge of FMLA, HIPAA, and employment law regulations. Excellent communication skills for effective employee interaction. Proficiency in HRIS systems such as Workday or ADP is preferred. Ability to analyze data and generate reports for management review. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Experience with payroll processing is a plus.
