Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering and managing the company's employee benefits programs. This role ensures all benefits processes are compliant, accurate, and efficiently managed through ADP Workforce Now. The Benefits Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, vendor coordination, and open enrollment activities, contributing to an exceptional employee experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain all employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, HSA, stop loss, and all other ancillary insurance and wellness initiatives by partnering with benefits broker to formulate and deliver a comprehensive benefits package to employees.
Manage benefits setup, enrollment, changes, QLEs, beneficiary and dependent information, and terminations in ADP Workforce Now; ensure accuracy and timeliness of data. Oversee maintenance of all data. Coordinate new hire elections to completion of initial enrollment.
Act as a subject matter expert for benefits within ADP, supporting system updates, audits, and troubleshooting.
Act as subject matter expert regarding plan documents and plan administration.
Track and identify trends in benefits programs, assist in developing recommendations and cost containment strategies, and ensure effective return on investment. Present statistical and market data and strategy to ensure benefits are competitive in the marketplace.
Serve as the main contact for employees regarding benefit questions, eligibility, coverage, and claims. Serve as main contact for death and accident claims. Serve as main contact for all benefits partners.
Coordinate data file submission to benefits partners and partner with brokers, vendors, and carriers to resolve issues and ensure smooth plan administration.
Coordinate and lead annual open enrollment, including communication materials, information sessions, system testing, and implementation.
Conduct regular employee benefits training and coordinate regular employee benefits communications.
Conduct regular audits of benefits deductions, invoices, and employee data to ensure accuracy.
Maintain compliance with all federal and state regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, etc.).
Review and analyze benefits reporting and review and process benefits billing.
Prepare and submit required reports, filings, and census data to carriers and regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance with all plans relative to required submissions, filings, plan document updates, and required testing.
Support HR projects related to wellness programs, policy updates, and total rewards initiatives.
Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate benefit deductions and timely adjustments.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Experience with self-insured plans and stop loss insurance required. Experience with self-insured stop loss captives preferred.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now is required (benefits module management, reporting, data audits, and enrollment*) Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification a plus
Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Solid knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and standards such as ADA, FMLA, EEO, etc.
