The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for administering, coordinating, and communicating all employee benefits programs. This role requires expertise in benefits management, a strong knowledge of compliance requirements, and the ability to provide high-quality service to associates across multiple shifts. The Benefits Coordinator will ensure that benefit plans are administered accurately and efficiently while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
Essential Functions:
Administer and maintain employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and leave programs.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, and state-specific requirements).
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing guidance, education, and support to employees across all shifts.
Partner with HR and payroll teams to ensure accurate benefit deductions and enrollments.
Manage open enrollment, including planning, all communication, employee education sessions, and system updates.
Coordinate and communicate Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) benefits, ensuring associates understand eligibility and plan updates.
Maintain accurate records and reporting for benefits administration, audits, and compliance testing.
Support and administer leave of absence requests (FMLA, personal leave, short-term/long-term disability).
Work closely with benefit providers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues and ensure the proper administration of plans.
Develop and deliver employee communications regarding benefits programs, changes, and deadlines.
Assist in analyzing benefits utilization, cost trends, and employee feedback to recommend improvements.
