Schedule/Hours: Monday -Saturday, 8-hour days (must be able to work a full shift)



This position is responsible for:




Rings bell for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations; greets the public in a courteous and friendly manner. Conducts job duties in accordance with the ministry of The Salvation Army and its Christian principles. Perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism

Key Responsibilities:



Greet the public with a warm, cheerful attitude Make eye contact, smile, and thank donors sincerely Show up on time and completes scheduled shifts Handle the donation kettle responsibly Wear Salvation Army gear or uniform appropriately Maintain a neat and respectful appearance Comfortable work alone at a kettle station for extended periods Understands they are the "face" of the organization during the campaign. Interacts respectfully with donors, store staff, and the public.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:



Ability to stand in one location for extended periods in outside weather conditions (8-hour shifts). Works outdoors in cold/hot or inclement weather conditions Work is performed outside where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather and discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt Dress appropriately for changing weather conditions and comfort Limited amount of physical effort required associated with lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



Knowledge of The Salvation Army Christmas Bell Program. Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision. Ability to greet and respond to the general public courteously. Ability to abide by required dress code. Ability to ring small hand bell and be responsible for bell and apron. .
