Job Description
General Description A Behavioral Mentor provides mentorship, coaching, and guidance to students. A mentor guides a student towards increased independence. They specialize in hands-on mentoring, with the aim to support therapeutic and independent living (Live, Work, Thrive) curriculum. They are tasked with ensuring a safe environment for students, providing after-hours customer service, managing emergencies, and conducting fun and engaging activities to help students make constructive use of their free time. Work Shifts
- Saturday 12am-8am
- Sunday 12am-8am
- Answer phones
- Answer student and family questions/concerns
- Conflict resolution/problem solving
- Confirm medication administration
- Safety/building checks every 2 hours
- Unlock/lock buildings, classrooms
- Social mentoring - coaching the student in their interaction with other students and staff
- Document daily interactions and progress
- Take attendance for student activity participation
- Participate in community events with students
- Coordinate with Thrive staff regarding activity calendar
- Weekly supervision with Thrive supervisor
- Coordinate coverage calendar
- Coordinate and complete training for other thrive mentors
- Cover shifts, as needed
- No minimum education requirements for this position.
