Nemours IMPACT (Innovative Mental Health Pathways for Child Therapists) Fellowship Program

Nemours Children\'s Hospital- Delaware is inviting master\'s trained therapists looking to receive supervised clinical hours as part of our IMPACT Fellowship Program. Our program will train 10 pre-licensed therapists to provide screening, consultation, and treatment for children and adolescents as well as care coordination, case management, and acute crisis intervention/management. Completion of this program will provide trainees with hours to obtain field specific independent clinical licensure along with skills and competences necessary to provide mental health services for youth from birth to young adulthood. Spanish speaking and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

We are seeking candidates interested in learning and adapting evidence-based family and individual interventions addressing the above. Our ideal candidate prioritizes diversity and cultural humility that drives their passion in working with youth and their families. Training will incorporate exposure to school-based and integrated primary care, early childhood (including training in PCIT, and behavioral interventions to address a wide range of concerns affecting young children and their families), outpatient therapy for children and adolescents, risk assessment, treatment and prevention (including opportunities to learn DBT) of risk and self-harm behaviors, and acute care/crisis rotations. These positions will focus on providing consultation, and individual and family therapy for families in the larger Delaware Valley and rural downstate communities.

Qualifications

  • Master\'s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Counseling and satisfy continuing education requirements to accrue supervised hours based on specific degree requirements (e.g. successful completion of NCE if applicable).
  • Preferred experience and interest in working with children and families, diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and trauma.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality individual, group and family therapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with caregivers, colleagues, medical staff, and community partners.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

About the Team:

At Nemours, we\'ve developed a large, expansive network of rehabilitation professionals (including physical, occupational and speech therapists, audiologists and rehabilitation engineers) who work to help children and teens move through all phases of recovery - from acute injury and developmental needs to wellness programming.

We use an integrated approach to care, starting with our strong partnerships with Nemours\' primary care and physician specialists. The Therapeutic & Rehabilitative Services department offers:
  • inpatient services - acute care and comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation
  • outpatient services - single-service therapy, comprehensive therapy day programming, wellness programming
  • specialty programming - aquatics, seating and mobility, augmentative communication, vestibular rehabilitation, splinting/wound care, Interactive Metronome, feeding and swallowing, audio verbal therapy, integrative listening (ILS), sports medicine, concussion rehabilitation
