About the Role:
Night Shift
The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health and emotional challenges by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in various care settings. The technician is responsible for crisis intervention and management, helping to de-escalate situations and provide immediate support during behavioral health emergencies. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation and assisting with discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Ultimately, the Behavioral Health Technician contributes to improving patient outcomes by fostering a therapeutic environment and supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering comprehensive behavioral health services.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred.
Experience or training in behavioral health, mental health, or related clinical settings.
Knowledge of clinical documentation standards and ability to maintain detailed patient records.
Basic understanding of crisis management and intervention techniques.
Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, including those with SED.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or equivalent credential.
Experience working in a healthcare services environment, particularly in mental health or psychiatric care.
Familiarity with discharge planning processes and coordination of care transitions.
Training in trauma-informed care and de-escalation strategies.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
