Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct care, supervision, and behavioral health support to residents in a residential treatment setting. This includes assisting with daily living activities, encouraging recovery progress, supporting treatment plan goals, promoting emotional stability, and using de-escalation skills during crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide

behavioral health care

and supervision to residents in accordance with their

treatment plans

. Assist with

daily living skills

such as hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Monitor resident

safety

and

well-being

, documenting observations and incidents. Administer and record

medication

in line with facility policy. Use

de-escalation

and

crisis intervention

skills to manage challenging behaviors. Support residents in achieving

treatment goals

and maintaining structure. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe

residential environment

. Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent, high-quality

behavioral health support

.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in a

behavioral health

,

mental health

, or

residential care

setting (SMI population preferred). Computer skills is a MUST High school diploma or GED required; additional training in

human services

or

behavioral health

preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and

problem-solving

skills. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow

behavioral health care

protocols. CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 2 days of Hire Fingerprint Clarence Card Required
