We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Behavior Technician (BT)

to provide

1:1 support

for an elementary student in an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) center. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and passionate about supporting students with special needs in a school environment.

This is a

school-based, in-person role

where you will work closely with the classroom teacher, special education team, and behavior specialists to implement support strategies that promote academic, behavioral, and social success.

Key Responsibilities

Provide

1:1 behavior and instructional support

to an elementary-age student diagnosed with ASD. Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the guidance of a BCBA or behavior specialist. Assist the student with daily routines, academic work, communication, and social skills. Record data on behavior, goals, and progress as required. Use proactive strategies to support emotional regulation and minimize challenging behaviors. Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other service providers. Ensure student safety and maintain a supportive, structured environment.

Qualifications

Experience working with children, preferably in special education or ABA-based settings. Familiarity with ASD and behavior intervention strategies (training provided if needed). Ability to follow behavior plans and take direction from supervisors. Strong communication, patience, and adaptability. High school diploma required; college coursework in psychology, education, or related fields preferred. Ability to pass required background checks.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
