A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BEHAVIOR HEALTH COACH

When a therapist or child and family set goals, you directly help the family achieve those goals as well as get to observe and experience the challenges and progress being made. To do this, you work one-on-one with children in their homes, school, or the community. You collaborate with their parents or guardians and the child and family team. You then develop and teach age-appropriate interventions based on what you believe will work best with each individual client.

After teaching the behavioral interventions to your clients, you reinforce follow through and track your findings. You complete all necessary documentation as well as partake in weekly supervision and scheduled training to continuously improve your skills in the field. The work you do is important and is often used to prevent hospitalization and assist a child in transitioning to a lower level of care once they start making progress. You love having a job that makes a difference in the lives of the children and families that you serve, and this is why you thrive in this position in the behavioral health field!
