Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Team Leader or Director, shares primary responsibility for the development, training and monitoring of behavioral programs for individual students. In addition, assists other staff in the development of instructional, therapeutic or other intervention plans and in monitoring student progress in learning specific academic, social, communication, vocational, and/or other adaptive skills. River Street Autism Program emphasizes the utilization of evidence-based practice with students with autism and other developmental disorders.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct functional behavioral assessments, including functional analysis
Write formal behavioral goals and objectives as well as related progress summaries
Develop and monitor data collection systems, including analyzing data trends
Train staff in the implementation of evidence-based, applied-analytic strategies
Monitoring the fidelity of behavioral programming
Additional Duties:
Serve on interdisciplinary Child Study Teams to review student classroom placement, instructional/behavioral program implementation and student progress
Provide parent, teacher, and/or staff training and support when appropriate
Provide training and supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and trainees currently enrolled in ABA graduate programs
Provide training in crisis prevention and intervention (Safety Care) to staff
Perform other duties assigned by the Clinical Team Leader or Program Director
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Evidence-based behavior-analytic technology and services
Current CT laws and regulations regarding the provision of services to students in schools
SKILL IN:
Providing direct ABA therapy to children with Autism and other developmental disorders in the home, school and community settings
Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments, including Functional Analysis
Conducting language and other assessments including the VB-MAPP, AFLS, ABLLS-R and ASIEP
Writing, monitoring and supervising the implementation of individualized intervention plans, monitoring student progress, and promoting data-based decision making
Consulting and collaborating with school staff as well as families and other external professionals, as required
Providing parent, teacher, and/or staff training on the principles of ABA
ABILITY TO:
Use computer network system and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Organize and coordinate work with other school personnel
Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with other school personnel
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards:
Participate in applying physical restraint techniques on a student in emergency situations
Lift greater than 50 pounds
Kneel on one knee, kneel on both knees
Bend from legs with ease
Get up and down from the floor without assistance
Run when required
Work outdoors during student activities
Qualifications Profile:
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Must be a Licensed Behavior Analyst by the State of Connecticut (Department of Public Health)
EDUCATION:
Must have a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field.
Requirements
