Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for set-up, maintenance and operation of bar.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic, different kinds of coffee and drinks to bar patrons using standard recipes.

Serves wine and draft or bottled beer.

Analyzes and resolves quality and customer service issues.

Receives drink orders form guests or wait staff, following billing procedures with the cashier as appropriate.

Orders or requisition liquors, beverages or supplies approved by the F&B Supervisor.

Slices fresh fruits for garnishing drinks on a daily basis.

May prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese, peanuts, popcorn, crackers, etc.

Performs opening and closing inventory for every function and whenever assigned.

Adheres to all RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) / ABC (Alcohol Beverage Control) Rules and Regulations.

Ensures knowledge of all beverage products and memorizes the drink list and all mixes.

Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the bar. Ensures all dirty glasses from guest tables are brought to the bar and stacked properly to avoid breakage.

Preparation and setup of the work area, including table and bar preparation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Other: Food and Beverage staff members will be responsible for all OSHA matters with in the department to ensure total safety of all guests and staffs. Report any unsafe work practices immediately.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:

Participate in GHRA's & GVB's & Other Bartending and Competition Events

Must learn and have knowledge of use of Micros Symphony.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must possess basic computational ability.

Must possess basic computer skills.

Must be able to respond to guest requests and business volume quickly and efficiently.

Must learn and follow all guest service standards.

General knowledge of the city where hotel is located and its attractions.

Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services and facilities.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to use finger dexterity, handle and/or feel. Employee will be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.

Employee will be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds frequently and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-50 pounds.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education:

High school or equivalent education preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of one to two years previous hospitality experience preferred.

Previous experience with serving and mixing standard and cocktail beverages

Licenses or Certificates:

*Must maintain validity throughout duration of employment

RBS / ABC Certificate

BT-A Class (GEPA) Certificate

Grooming

All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Lotte Hotel standards.
