Position Overview



The bartender's role is to deliver excellent guest experiences by preparing and serving beverages with consistency, accuracy, and hospitality. Bartenders must have the ability to engage guests with a friendly, outgoing, and professional manner while ensuring service is efficient and safe.

At all times, bartenders are expected to:

Make guests feel welcome, comfortable, and valued. Accurately mix and serve beverages using standardized recipes. Support team members and maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar.

Summary of Responsibilities



Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and standards. Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with guests at the bar and through servers. Maintain product knowledge of signature cocktails, beer, and wine offerings. Manage bar operations, including stocking, cleaning, and handling cash transactions. Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and safe consumption guidelines.

Essential Duties



Collect money for drinks served, process payments, and balance tills with accuracy. Check guest identification to verify legal drinking age. Prepare garnishes and juices daily; slice fruit and maintain freshness. Clean and sanitize glasses, utensils, bar tools, and work areas per cleaning checklist. Stock and organize liquor, beer, wine, glassware, straws, napkins, and ice. Serve beverages and food items to guests at the bar; assist servers when needed. Follow established recipes and "house standards" for all drinks and cocktails. Assist in planning bar menus and contributing new drink ideas. Monitor guest behavior and prevent over-service; intervene when necessary and arrange safe transportation for intoxicated guests. Handle difficult or disruptive guests professionally, including refusing service when required. Maintain attractive bottle and glass displays behind the bar. Be a team player and assist fellow staff during busy shifts.

Qualifications



Must be at least 21 years of age. Class 12 Mixologist Permit (or ability to obtain prior to start date). Washington State Food Handler's Card (or ability to obtain). Ability to communicate clearly in English. Knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine required. Ability to lift and carry 20-50 lbs occasionally and 1-5 lbs frequently. Ability to stand and remain active for up to 8 hours. Professional appearance and grooming standards. Positive, engaging, and energetic personality. Previous bartending experience strongly preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.66 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
