Position Summary



Master of multitasking and guest service, a bartender at Otis is at the center of our hospitality operation! This role puts you behind the scenes in bar prep part of your shift and exceptional guest service team member during peak business hours. Specializing in connecting with guests, efficiently managing orders, offering thoughtful suggestions serving beverages, food, and ensuring that the bar and cafe areas are full replenished and a best representation of the brand from a visual perspective. This position provides elevated hospitality to all guests of the hotel and local community, acting as a guide for both menu selection and daily excursions.

Responsibilities

Hospitality & Brand Experience



- Provides exceptional hospitality and service to all guests of the hotel.

- Asks inquisitive questions and offers thoughtful suggestions to ensure that the guest has insights into offerings that are tailored to their specific preferences.

- Learns key details about guests and captures information to ensure needs or wants are anticipated for future delights.

- Acts as a local guide for all guests stay experience; recommending activities, restaurants, and insights into local events/attractions.

Operations



- Knowledgeable about all items on the menu and recommends innovative specials based on seasonal offerings.

- Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with quality, consistency and artfulness while offering personalization based on guest preferences.

- Maintains a clean and organized workspace by performing all cleaning, opening, and closing duties with diligence.

- Keeps a even keel between stocking and operating alongside the bartender with serving guests on the floor with specialized cocktails cured to there specific taste and palette.

- Prepares culinary items in accordance with standard operating procedures; ensuring food and beverages are handled in a safe & cleanly manner in accordance with standard guidelines.

- Responsibly handles payments with care while operating the register to itemize purchases & process payments as efficiently as possible.

- Notifies management if products and supplies need to be ordered & ensures all items are well stocked throughout the bakery & merchandise displays within the bar and cafe.

- Prioritizes compliance regarding security, cash handling/cash drawer accounting procedures, product handling (i.e., damaged/spoiled products), safety and sanitation procedures and standards.

- Notifies guests of brand offerings, events and local community partnerships.

- Prioritizes the safety & security of all guests & employees.

- Willingly supports team members to ensure an optimal guest experience and fair distribution of team duties.

Experience



- 2+ years in F&B role, primarily front of house is preferred but not required.

- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift/carry up to 50lbs.

- Strong familiarity with the preparation and presentation of beers, wines, and cafe offerings.

- Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol Awareness certification (TiPS) and Food Handlers Certification (ServSafe) by start date.

- Attentive and inquisitive when understanding guests preferences and providing thoughtful recommendations.

- Takes pride in their work and creates tasteful experiences for guests.

- Highly organized & proactive to ensure a seamless experience from start to finish.

Schedule:

working between the hours of 2pm to 11pm, to include weekends on a rotational basis, and split shifts.

Position Type:

Part-Time (20-30 hours/week) or Full-Time (35+ hours/week) Otis Harbor Springs is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic bartender to provide an excellent guest drinking experience. Good bartenders will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers' needs and expectations. Compensation includes salary (starting at $16/hr) and tips.
