Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Flex to join our diner team. This versatile role involves preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, providing excellent customer service, and supporting various operational tasks such as taking ice cream and take out orders, welcoming guests and assisting servers. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating a welcoming environment for our customers. This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability and provides opportunities to develop skills in food and beverage service within a dynamic retail setting.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and consistency. Support team members during busy periods by assisting with serving, cleaning, or other operational tasks as needed. Operate Square POS system for order processing, payments, and cash handling. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation and service areas. Handle food items responsibly, adhering to food handling regulations and safety protocols. Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and retail math calculations. Restock supplies, manage inventory levels, and organize product displays in the cafe area. Uphold health standards by following proper food safety procedures and sanitation practices.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with Square POS system is a plus. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during shifts. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions. Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation, and food handling procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work varying shifts based on business needs; previous retail or food service experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 - 35.0 per week
