Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced

Barista Trainer

to lead our team in delivering exceptional coffee and food service experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive barista and coffee industry knowledge, and a passion for training others. This role involves developing training programs, mentoring new staff, and ensuring high standards of customer service and food safety are maintained across our cafe environment. The Barista Trainer will play a vital role in fostering a positive team culture and elevating the overall guest experience.

Duties

Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for new and existing staff on coffee preparation, food handling, POS systems, and customer service protocols. Conduct hands-on training sessions covering Aloha POS, Micros POS, cash handling, retail math, and food safety standards. Mentor baristas to improve their skills in coffee brewing, serving techniques, food preparation, and sales strategies. Monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and operational procedures. Assist in daily cafe operations as needed, including cashiering, food service, and customer interactions. Maintain a clean and organized training environment while promoting food safety practices. Collaborate with management to identify training needs and develop ongoing educational initiatives to enhance team performance.

Experience

Proven experience as a Barista with strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and food service operations. Prior experience in training or coaching team members within the food or beverage industry is highly preferred. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is essential. Demonstrated ability in sales, customer service excellence, and effective time management skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations, proper food handling procedures, and serving standards. Strong math skills including retail math, cafe math, cash handling accuracy, and basic arithmetic for sales transactions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members in a fast-paced environment.
