Job Summary

Popovers on the Square is looking for a warm and energetic team member to join our cafe and bakery. This role blends classic barista work with front of house service and bakery support. You will craft beverages, serve food, handle cakes, cookies, popovers, and help keep our bakery running smoothly. Every shift is an opportunity to create a welcoming experience for our guests. This position offers hands on learning in both beverage service and scratch bakery operations in a lively and fast paced setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas and cold beverages with accuracy and care Take guest orders at the counter with a friendly and attentive approach Operate Toast POS for all transactions with accuracy Serve bakery items including cakes, cookies, pastries, and signature popovers Deliver food and beverages to guests and ensure all items are presented neatly Restock bakery displays and maintain product rotation throughout the day Support basic bakery tasks such as slicing bread, boxing bakery items, labeling, and preparing take home orders Maintain a clean and organized cafe area including counters, drink stations, bakery displays, and the dining room Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to keep guests and team members safe Assist the team with food preparation as needed during busy periods Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies to support smooth daily operations Communicate clearly with team members to support a positive and efficient work environment Provide thoughtful customer service and help answer guest questions about our bakery items and menu

Requirements

Previous experience in a cafe, bakery, or food service environment is helpful Barista experience is a plus but we are happy to train the right person Comfort with Toast POS or similar point of sale systems Strong customer service skills and a friendly, guest focused personality Ability to multitask and stay organized during high volume periods Basic math skills for handling payment transactions Understanding of basic food safety standards or willingness to learn Ability to stand, move, and stay active throughout the shift Good communication skills and comfort working as part of a team Interest in coffee, bakery items, and creating memorable experiences for guests

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
