We are seeking a friendly and efficient

Barista

to join our vibrant cafe team at Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. As a key member of our team, you will create a welcoming environment for customers while preparing high-quality drinks and food items. Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to company standards. Operate POS systems such as Toast for order processing and cash handling. Manage customer orders efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality. Ensure food safety and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times. Assist with food preparation and serving of pasties or baked goods as needed. Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including equipment, counters, and seating areas. Manage cash register operations, including cash handling and basic math calculations for transactions. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers professionally and courteously. Uphold health and safety standards in accordance with food industry regulations. Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

Previous barista experience or background in coffee service is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast is a plus. Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude. Ability to perform food safety practices and handle food products responsibly. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy. Experience in food handling, food preparation, or retail sales within the food industry is advantageous. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as needed.
