Summary

CornerStone in Frazee, Minnesota is seeking energetic, friendly, dynamic individuals to join their growing team!

The Barista is the face of the coffee shop! Our Baristas are responsible for going above and beyond to ensure our customers have a fantastic experience every time they come in. Baristas must be knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and customer satisfaction by being committed to providing excellent service through positive, polite, genuine interactions in a fast-paced environment.

Baristas are expected to greet customers, answer their questions, take orders, accept payments, and prepare and serve food and drinks. Baristas are expected to maintain a clean and well-stocked workspace and dining area, update displays, and continuously expand knowledge of food and beverage quality controls, preparation methods, and presentation. Baristas are also expected to cross-train in the kitchen to assist the chef with food preparation and various other kitchen tasks to maintain team-centered workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greeting customers warmly and building rapport through genuine interactions Providing necessary assistance to customers by taking food and drink orders, and serving appropriately Responding to and resolving customer concerns, complaints and questions professionally and appropriately Educates customers by presenting and explaining the menu, answering questions, and making suggestions Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply and stocking coffee brewing equipment Crafting and serving beverages, such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and other specialty drinks Operating coffee equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, coffee machines, and blenders Keeping the work environment, cafe and seating area clean and sanitized Stocking and organizing supplies in work areas, cafe, and seating area appropriately Maintaining equipment by using, cleaning and storing properly Operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and cash register Assisting in the kitchen as needed with baked items, food prep, dishwashing, and stocking coolers Completing end of shift or end of day cleaning and stocking tasks throughout the establishment, such as in the cafe, seating area and bathrooms, and taking out trash Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

Minimum 16 years of age No prior experience or training required! We will train the right candidate! Customer Service and Coffee Shop experience preferred, but not required.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
