Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties. Engage with customers to take orders, answer questions, and provide friendly, attentive service that exceeds expectations. Manage food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures. Maintain cleanliness of the area, including counters, equipment, and seating areas, ensuring a welcoming environment. Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, supporting the team in delivering quality products efficiently. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and minimize wait times. Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems while maintaining accountability for cash drawer management. Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product levels regularly. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals through upselling and promoting menu items confidently. Follow all food safety regulations and health standards diligently to ensure guest safety at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience as a barista or in food service roles within cafes or retail environments; coffee experience is highly valued. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling techniques, and food preparation procedures. Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours without compromising quality or service speed. Basic math skills for retail math calculations related to sales transactions and inventory counts. Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
