JOB DETAILS
We're a brazen group of coffee enthusiasts and lovers of food that are looking for like-minded folks to join our ranks. The ideal barista is a tastemaker that is in love with coffee, food, and creating amazing experiences for our patrons. Our baristas receive training to make great beverages, provide great guest experiences, successfully operate our POS system as a cashier, and serve food to our customers. We love our baristas to carry a high level of situational awareness, a meaningful ability to connect with people, and a fearless desire to be ever learning and improving. Previous experience in coffee and food is not necessary, yet a desire to learn and serve people is a must.
EXPECTATIONS
You will relentlessly deliver hospitality to our guests and your fellow staff members
Consistently delivering a quality product governed by LAMILL's quality standards and procedures which include: Dialing in espresso, pour overs, grinders, and batch drip
Stay knowledgeable about LAMILL's current coffee offerings through tastings, cuppings, and information provided to you by your LAMILL Retail Manager
Drink your and others' coffee and espresso drinks regularly to ensure quality, uphold our standards, and keep developing your coffee palate
Maintaining a clean and polished work environment - cleaning, wiping, dusting, polishing, organizing condiment station, and taking out the trash
Support your team in keeping the cafe running smoothly and beautifully - these tasks may vary but you can include operating the cash register, making drinks, dusting, mopping, cleaning, organizing, and taking out the trash
Successfully understanding and serving our customers whereby creating extraordinary guest experiences
THE PERFECT CANDIDATE
Willing to commit to at least 1 year of employment

A professional - you are serious about your work but don't take yourself too seriously
Reliable and consistent - your manager and teammates can always depend on you to bring your A-game in quality, customer service, and teamwork.
Obsessed with the details and driven by quality! You love honing your craft and understand each cup of coffee and each plate of delicious food for its individual potential
Dedicated to your team and your guests - you understand and value empathy and use it to guide interactions on and off the job
Eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
SKILLS
Basic math and computer skills
A flexible schedule and are available to work weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND EXPECTATIONS
Ability to smell and taste. You're continually developing your palate and tasting and smelling coffee/food is absolutely necessary in order to ensure its quality.
You are capable of listening, speaking, and communicating effectively. Communicating with our guests is an integral part of our brand's guest experience.
Ability to lift, push, pull, carry approx 50 lbs. You'll be handling cold brew kegs, coffee beans, crates of milk, tubs of dishes, and trash bins.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. You'll be on your feet the whole time whether your behind the register, pulling shots behind the espresso machine, or walking the cafe floor.
Use of hands to reach, grip, turn and perform precision work. You'll be constantly using your hands to assemble drinks, operate the cash register, pre-batch beverages, operate the espresso machine and coffee bar equipment (among other responsibilities).
As needed squat, bend, twist and reach for items below waist level or above shoulders. For example, you may have to bend down to reach for items in the beverage refrigerator, cups, napkins (among other items).
