: Within the Rehabilitation Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.


ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the team in the Rehabilitation Department as a Barber!

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a license issued by the Louisiana Board of Barber Examiners; OR



Possession of a cosmetology license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:


In this role, you will:

Provide individualized grooming needs for client population to include haircuts and trims, hair and scalp treatments, other beauty treatments and shaves. Instruct patients in personal hygiene. Meet Board and Health Standards and Safety. Maintain clean and safe shop area. Sterilize and sanitize all equipment after being used. Count, bag, and send soiled towels to be laundered. Count and store clean towels in a secured cabinet. Keep scissors and hazardous materials in a secured cabinet. Maintain daily log and confers with supervisor about services rendered. Instruct clients in elementary beauty care and good grooming. Report to supervisor and Nursing Services any scalp disorders found. Inventory supplies and orders as needed. Complete and submit monthly report to supervisor.
