Larchmont Yacht Club has been a leader in hospitality and sailing culture since 1880. The Food and Beverage team is at the heart of these experiences and plays a key role in delivering service that reflects the Club's tradition and high standards.
We are seeking a Barback who wants to grow within a professional environment and support bartenders in creating a polished and efficient bar experience for members and guests.
Position Summary
The Barback supports bar operations across several dining venues, outdoor service areas, private events, and large-scale functions. This role ensures the bar is fully stocked, organized, and ready for smooth service throughout each shift. Success in this position comes from attention to detail, reliability, teamwork, and a genuine interest in hospitality. Key Responsibilities
Assist bartenders with daily bar setup and breakdown in all service areas
Restock glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, and bar tools throughout service
Maintain clean, orderly, and well prepared bar stations
Help restock liquor, wine, and beer and assist with inventory as needed
Develop a basic understanding of the beverage menu, including cocktails, wine, and beer
Support bartenders during member dining, private events, and special club functions
Greet members and guests with a friendly and attentive presence
Complete opening, mid shift, and closing side work assignments
Contribute to a positive and cooperative team culture
Qualifications
At least one year of experience as a barback or similar role in a fine dining restaurant, hotel, private club, or event venue
Prior experience in an upscale or private club environment is preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high volume environment
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
Working knowledge of common bar tools, spirits, and beverage categories
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
