We pair our house-brewed beers with a scratch-made food menu, all served in a high-energy, community-focused atmosphere. We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and highly organized Bar Manager to lead our beverage program and ensure exceptional bar service.

Position Summary

The Bar Manager is responsible for all aspects of the bar operations, including inventory, staff training, quality control, and maximizing profitability for all beer, wine, and spirit sales. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong product knowledge, financial acumen, and a knack for creating memorable guest experiences. We're looking to hire a hybrid role. This would entail 2 shifts a week behind the bar and three shifts a week completing management duties. This position will be Salary plus Tips.

Key Responsibilities

1. Beverage Program Management

Inventory & Ordering: Manage all beverage ordering, receiving, and storage, focusing heavily on managing the house beer inventory and ordering external wine and liquor.

Beer Management: Ensure the draft cooler is free from empty kegs, organized, clean, and operational. Maintain and test all draft faucets. Work closely with Head Brewer on upcoming beers and curate a diverse array of beers.

Cost Control: Monitor and manage beverage pour costs, minimizing waste, and conducting weekly inventory counts.

Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards for draft room/system cleanliness and function, ensuring optimal beer quality and flavor delivery.

Menu Development: Curate, cost, and maintain the guest tap, wine, spirits, and cocktail menu to complement the house beer offerings and culinary program.

Promotion: Develop and execute promotional strategies, tasting events, and staff incentive programs to drive beverage sales.

2. Staff Leadership and Training

Hiring & Scheduling: Help recruit, interview, hire, and schedule all bar staff (bartenders and bar backs).

Product Education: Lead regular training sessions for all Front-of-House staff on beer styles, specific house brews, cocktail preparation, and responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS/ServSafe).

Performance: Coach, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to bar staff, addressing performance issues and celebrating successes.

Culture: Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional working environment behind the bar.

3. Operational Excellence & Compliance

Shift Management: Act as the Manager on Duty (MoD) as needed, ensuring smooth service flow, guest satisfaction, and handling all service-related issues.

Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all bar equipment, including coolers, ice machines, and glassware washers, are functioning and properly maintained.

Compliance: Ensure 100% adherence to all local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol service, cleanliness, health codes, and labor practices.

Cash Handling: Oversee accurate cash handling, tip declarations, and end-of-shift reconciliation for the bar team.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of management experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or brewpub setting.

Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of craft beer, including brewing processes, off-flavors, and draft system operation. Cicerone certification or equivalent knowledge preferred.

Skills: Proven ability to manage inventory, control costs, and analyze P&L statements related to beverage operations.

Technology: Proficient with POS systems and inventory management software.

Certifications: Current ServSafe Manager and state-specific alcohol service certifications required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50+ lbs (kegs, cases), and work nights, weekends, and holidays.
