One of the most beloved resorts in New England, The Woodstock Inn & Resort, is seeking a Banquet Captain to join the team.



Job Summary:




The Banquet Captain is responsible for coordinating an assigned banquet event to ensure flawless execution and exceptional guest experiences. Lead a team in executing the details as outlined in the BEO ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness. Projects are assigned with some latitude for decision making and setting priorities. Refer unusual or complex problems to manager. Attention to detail and ability to multitask are crucial in creating unforgettable private events, weddings, and corporate functions.





Job Specifications:



Expected Pay Range: Base rate $13.00 plus portion of service charge pool. Earnings will vary and are estimated at $32-37 per hour. + The pay scale shown is the range that we reasonably expect to pay. Actual compensation offered may be adjusted based on a candidate's qualifications and/or experience.
+ Shift & Schedule Availability: Full-time year round
+ Weekends and holidays as needed

Job Responsibilities:



Event Execution

+ Oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of all banquet functions according to event orders and hotel standards.
+ Ensure all rooms are properly staged, clean, and meet luxury presentation standards before guest arrival.

Team Leadership

+ Direct and support assigned banquet staff during events.
+ Conduct pre-event briefings to communicate the plan for execution.
+ Monitor staff performance and work with manager on any employee performance issues.

Operational Excellence

+ Verify accuracy of event orders and communicate changes to the team and relevant departments.
+ Set function rooms with an eye for detail and adherence to company standards.
+ Maintain flexibility to pivot with last minute guest requests if necessary.
+ Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
+ Assist with inventory control of banquet equipment and supplies.

Guest Experience

+ Be familiar with and ensure compliance with procedures regarding guest dietary preferences, restrictions and allergies.
+ Ensure every interaction reflects the Woodstock Inn & Resort's values.

Job Requirements:



Minimum 2 years of experience in banquet operations or hospitality leadership, preferably in a luxury environment. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and event logistics. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Significant portions of daily assignments involve prolonged standing, transporting material or equipment, or lifting, moving, or carrying heavy (over 30 pounds) materials for intermittent periods throughout the day
