In this role as the Banquet Bartender you will be responsible for preparing beverages and serving beverages and/or food to guests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.


The ideal candidate will have previous bartending and guest services experience. Previous Banquet luxury experience preferred. The ideal candidate must possess basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages. Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes. Basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers. Ability to read, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and take orders. Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock. Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check. Ability to work standing and work in confined spaces for long periods of time. Ability to work in high volume and fast service environment. Ability to, bend, stoop, walk and lift/push/pull up to 60 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to set up a satellite bar. Ability to work a full shift (8 hours) walking and standing with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire if applicable to the position you are applying for.

What will I be doing?

Proper and adequate set-up of a banquet bar. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet. Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality. Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Check guests for proper identification. Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws. Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys. Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.

The hourly rate is $20.50 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
