Job Description


HAPO Community Credit Union is looking for an experienced Bank Secrecy Act Assistant (BSA Assistant) to join their Compliance Team. This opportunity lends itself to strong decision makers, great communicators, and those who have a knack for regulations and legal requirements. As the BSA Assistant your primary role is to assist the Compliance Officer in monitoring and maintaining HAPO\xe2\x80\x99s compliance program. Essential job functions include answering phone calls and emails from HAPO staff, being responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records, as well as performing daily compliance monitoring.

Duties Include, but are not limited to:

  • Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) - Must have thorough knowledge of CTR filing thresholds, how to work referrals from staff, manage alerts in AML software and understand the e-filing process.
  • Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) - Must have thorough knowledge of SAR filing thresholds and reasons. Must understand how to work staff referrals, manage and decision alerts in AML software and understand the e-filing process.
  • OFAC - Responsible for reviewing all potential matches to the OFAC list, determining potential matches and when to contact the OFAC hotline for assistance. Assist staff with potential OFAC matches and overrides.
  • AML Software alerts - Must obtain a thorough working knowledge of all alerts in the AML software and how to decision the alerts.
  • ComplySight - Must obtain a thorough working knowledge of ComplySight and perform Compliance reviews utilizing this software.
  • BSA Training - Assist in developing annual BSA training materials for staff.
  • Customer Identification Program (CIP) - Have a thorough understanding of HAPO policy and procedures in regards to CIP.
  • Research - Must be able to research compliance related topics using the resources available.
Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficient use of MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Proficient use of 10 key calculator
  • Proficient use of standard office equipment
  • Ability to handle oneself in stressful situations
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Ability to Prioritize work
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
  • One year of similar or related experience.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with Verafin or other AML software systems
  • Certifications related to BSA/AML and Compliance

Starting Pay Range: $18.75-$31.59
