Job Summary

Note: This position is primarily a coverage hire, requiring flexible availability to cover call-outs, vacations, and holidays. This position will have 1 dedicated shift per week on Saturday. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Bakery counter professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for people, authentic hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service. Additionally, as a barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for our team and our guests. Your role will involve collaboration with team members to enhance sales and deliver an outstanding experience. It only takes a smile and a short interaction to make someone's day special!

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate the cash register, handle cash transactions, and ensure accurate cash handling practices. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment and utensils. Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction. Adhere to food safety standards and regulations during food preparation and service. Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of supplies and ingredients. Participate in training sessions to improve skills in food preparation, guest service, and product knowledge.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of specialty coffee experience. Current Multnomah County Food Handlers' Card/Ability to obtain upon hire. Be a "People Person!" We aim to make the short time we spend with our guests, the best part of their day. Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Flexible availability. Reliable transportation. Willingness to cross-train at our NW and Sellwood locations.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
