Bakery Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Bakery Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will greet customers, assist them with product selections, and ensure a positive shopping experience. This role involves handling sales transactions, packaging baked goods, maintaining cleanliness in the bakery, and managing customer requests via email.

(Start Date Beginning of August)

Responsibilities:

Greet customers and offer assistance in a friendly and professional manner. Answer questions about bakery products and provide recommendations based on customer preferences. Package purchased baked goods in boxes and bags, ensuring proper presentation and protection. Complete sales transactions efficiently using the pricing system and process customer payments. Maintain cleanliness of the bakery sales counter, display case, food prep, and kitchen areas. Uphold food service health and safety standards at all times. Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally, striving to resolve issues promptly. Perform multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy periods, to ensure efficient service. Manage and respond to customer requests and orders via email, ensuring timely and accurate communication.

Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive interactions with customers and coworkers. Strong oral and written communication skills to answer questions clearly and concisely, both in person and via email. Proven customer service skills to address and resolve customer concerns effectively. Ability to remain upright and mobile for most of the shift. Proficient multitasking skills to manage serving customers during high-traffic times. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in preparing and packaging food items. Basic computer skills to operate pricing systems, process payments, and manage email correspondence. Knowledge of food service health and safety standards.

Additional Information:

Prior experience in a bakery or food service environment is a plus but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
