to join our team, assisting with baking and providing friendly front counter service.

Responsibilities

Prepare, bake, and finish gluten-free pastries following company recipes and quality standards. Assist in daily prep, restocking, and organizing ingredients and supplies. Provide excellent customer service at the front counter, including taking orders, processing payments, and answering questions about products. Craft espresso-based drinks and teas to order with attention to flavor, consistency, and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery, coffee station, and customer areas throughout each shift. Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols to ensure a safe environment for customers and team members. Work collaboratively with the bakery team to ensure smooth and efficient operations during busy periods. Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding inventory needs, equipment issues, or customer concerns. Uphold and represent the mission and values of Sweet Impastries in all customer and team interactions.

Experience/Skills and Physical Requirements

Must be 18 years or older. Must have a valid Food Handler's Card (or be able to obtain before start date). Prior experience in food service, baking, or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Comfortable using point-of-sale systems, order tracking tools, and basic kitchen equipment. Strong customer service skills and a friendly, positive attitude. Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and consistently. Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive movements. Attention to detail and mental alertness for safe and accurate task completion. Flexible schedule availability, including weekends and holidays, with reliable attendance. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
