Position Summary/Objective of Job:

The Baker 2 contributes to production by producing quality inclusions, variegates and moms for our ice cream. This is achieved by following recipes determined by the daily production schedule. Baker 2 follows production protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while handling ingredients and equipment.

Essential Functions:

Starts every shift with instruction from Bake Supervisor and Baker 3 on how to strategize to meet production goals.

Follow recipe specifications, using basic math skills to regularly weigh and bake accurately.

Follow GMPs while handling ingredients and equipment.

Troubleshoot and issues that come up and check in with Baker 3 if escalation is needed.

Fill out and complete daily ingredient tracking sheets and work orders.

Helps complete the End of Day Checklist.

Additional Responsibilities:

Help in other departments when needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following qualifications:

1+ year of experience in baking and/or pastry and/or candy-making is necessary.

Knowledge and Critical Skills:

Fluency in English: reading, writing, speaking is required.

Spanish speaking as a second-language is preferred.

Possess general knowledge of pastry skills and candy making.

Comfortable working on a team in a manufacturing facility with other teams.

Clear and concise communication skills.

Able to work in a fast paced production environment.

Ensure a high standard of service, efficiency, sanitation, and safety.

Good basic math skills.

In-depth knowledge of how to use: hobart mixers, tilt braisers, stoves, ovens, fryer, fire kettle, Urschel, immersion blender, sheeter, grinder, food processor, torches, all other common baking utensils.

Standing 75% of the time.

Walking 25% of the time.

Occasional to frequent bending, pushing, pulling.

Work is done primarily in bake-side kitchen.

Occasional to frequent in/out of kitchen coolers and freezers.

Good light and ventilation.

Noise level is high and tolerable .

Room temperature should be comfortable.

Ample space to move through and around the production area without obstruction.

Room is occasionally wet when cleaning.

Occasionally strong scents & odors depending on ingredients and cleaning.
