AWS Application Architect -

Location - Chicago

Role Objective:

To lead application architecture design and development with a strong foundation in cloud-native technologies, particularly AWS, and modern architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and architect cloud-native applications with a deep understanding of AWS services.


Collaborate with enterprise applications teams to ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards and strategic guidance.


Apply microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and application communication/error-handling patterns.


Select appropriate AWS components from a wide range of services to build lean and efficient solutions.


Implement observability patterns, SRE principles, and middleware strategies.


Implement and maintain relentless automation for end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and observability leveraging tools (Harness, Dynatrace, AWS & Azure Ecosystem) to ensure e-icient software delivery and application reliability.


Support application modernization including re-architecting on-prem applications for cloud deployment.


Enable Canary deployments, A/B testing, and feature flag management using tools like Harness.


Ensure compliance with Cloud 3.0 standards and enterprise-level architecture practices.


Assist in the design and oversee the provisioning and management of on-premises servers, AWS cloud infrastructure, and AWS cloud cost management.


Contribute to GenAI and Agentic AI initiatives, including setting up agentic systems with UI and orchestration layers.


Provide leadership and mentorship to development and operations teams, promoting best practices in architecture and development. Continuously research and advocate for the adoption of new technologies and methodologies that can benefit the organization.

Required Skills:

8-10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, with a strong background in managing complex enterprise applications and infrastructure


Strong experience in application architecture and cloud architecture (especially AWS).


Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven systems, and application design patterns.


Familiarity with AWS architecture, including selecting optimal services for specific use cases.


Experience with Harness, IDP, and feature flag systems.


Understanding of Cloud 3.0 compliance and enterprise architecture frameworks.


Exposure to GenAI and Agentic AI setups is a plus.


DevOps and CI/CD: Strong knowledge of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automation, and observability tools (Harness, Dynatrace)


Ability to design and communicate architecture effectively across teams.


Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required


Strong communication skills, Team player, and good attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree


AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect).


Familiarity with Contact Center and Case Management is a plus.


Experience in working with the application development teams.


Strong communication and documentation skills, including creating executive-level presentations.


PCI Compliance: Proven experience in implementing and maintaining PCI compliance for enterprise applications
