Aircraft Electrical/Avionics Mechanic
Primary Function
Perform Organizational-Level, Intermediate-Level, and Depot-Level aircraft maintenance tasks, repairs, modifications, Time Compliance Technical Orders, and One-Time Inspections on CV-22 aircraft. Inspect and maintain aircraft avionics, electrical, and environmental components. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions, troubleshooting, and repair of systems and subsystems while ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental directives.
Essential Duties
Perform inspections and maintenance on avionics, electrical, and environmental systems.
Conduct acceptance inspections of critical flight control components after rework, receipt from manufacturer, or during aircraft acceptance and transfer.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions on CV-22 aircraft.
Diagnose, adjust, repair, and replace faulty aircraft electrical, environmental, and avionics components.
Troubleshoot avionics instrumentation, navigation, environmental control systems, and electrical assemblies using wiring schematics and diagrams.
Perform complex system/sub-system troubleshooting.
Ensure accuracy and completion of aircraft forms and Maintenance Information System documentation.
Comply with environmental directives and protection standards.
Enforce compliance with applicable government safety directives and industrial safety guidelines, promoting a zero-accident environment.
Provide on-the-job training and documentation of training for active-duty maintenance technicians.
Travel to other CV-22 locations to perform maintenance or repairs as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Standard Description
Plan, coordinate, direct, and perform engineering-related tasks, including specifications and design changes to aircraft, engines, systems, components, and equipment.
Investigate and analyze project requirements and operating issues, developing solutions to meet safety and performance standards, including Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
Evaluate, apply, and adapt engineering modifications; design or recommend new or modified parts and components.
Analyze reparability of parts, evaluate operating data, and determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals.
Prepare and maintain technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other publications.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of
seven (7) years
of continuous aircraft maintenance experience in an Aircraft Electrical/Avionics specialty on any fixed-wing or rotary aircraft.
Minimum of one (1) year of documented recent (within the past three years) experience on the CV-22 platform.
Extensive working knowledge of technical publications, bulletins, diagrams, ground support equipment, and precision tools in accordance with the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).
Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Government Secret clearance.
