We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented shop support person to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for automotive repair and maintenance, and are eager to learn and grow within the industry. To start, the automotive support person will assist with various shop upkeep tasks, assisting technicians with vehicle repairs and maintenance, and communicating with our shop service manager. This individual will also be given the opportunity to learn from our master technicians to work toward securing a entry level technician position.
Duties
Perform routine shop upkeep, such as sweeping, taking out trash, and cleaning up any spills
Assist in vehicle maintenance, such as oil changes and tire changes
Assist our technicians with vehicle repairs
Communicate with our Service Advisor on supplies needing to be ordered, technician needs, and vehicle status
Collaborate with senior technicians to learn advanced repair techniques
Provide excellent customer service by greeting all customers in a friendly manner and directing them to the proper employee for any questions or concerns
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency in the shop.
Requirements
Previous experience in an automotive repair facility is preferred but not required
Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in vehicle maintenance practices.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment while staying calm and productive
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
